Mr. Jones obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from the University of San Francisco in 1987. He went on to obtain a Master of Arts degree in History in 1992 from California State University, Hayward, and a Master of Arts degree in Cultural Resources Management in 2001 from Sonoma State University, He has had historical research experience throughout northern California for ten years and is qualified as a Historian with the California Historical Resources Information System, of the California Office of Historic Preservation. He has had experience in cultural resources since 1997 throughout northern and central California, including field survey, excavation, building evaluation, site recording and mapping, report writing, extensive obsidian hydration research, artifact analysis, GIS analysis, and artifact collections database management.
Mr. Jones is affiliated with the Society for California Archaeology, the International Association for Obsidian Studies, the Society for American Archaeology, and the Society for Historical Archaeology.
